2009 Work

These are some websites created by children in Year 1 using a programme called 2Create a Story.

First they did an internet google image search to find pictures of animals and tv programmes they liked. Then they drew a picture of themselves and their favourite shape using the drawing tools (pencil, paintbrush, spray can, fill, line and colour palette) They then added: text (to describe the pictures), sounds (using the microphone, keyboard and library sound files) and animations.

In geography this half-term we have been learning about the area around our school. We went for a walk up Savernake Road and saw lots of interesting things, including a broken-down bus, a postman and three taxis. We then wrote a letter to a friend in Australia asking about their local area. We are still waiting for the reply!
     

 

In year 1 we appreciate the value of play. We believe that children acquire valuable skills which benefit their learning in all subject areas. Through play, children also have the opportunity to improve their social skills.

2007 Work

These are some websites created by children in Year 1 using a programme called 2Create a Story.

First they chose and imported some photos from around Gospel Oak. Then they drew a picture of themselves and did an internet search to find a picture of their favourite TV programme. They then added: text (to describe the pictures), sounds and animations.
