Gospel Oak has been awarded Active Mark Gold status for our sports provision and sporting achievement. We offer children a broad range of high quality physical activities both within the PE curriculum (all children have 2 PE lessons a week) and through extra-curricular activities (10 different sports clubs every week). Gospel Oak is one of only 3 primary schools in inner London to be awarded gold status. In December 2004 high jumper Dalton Grant visited the school to publicise the London 2012 Olympic bid. In October 2005 (2 months after the Games were awarded to London) Sebastian Coe visited the school to present the Active Mark Gold award.

Sebastian Coe Visit

DALTON GRANT is a member of the London 2012 bid Board. Born in Hackney, Dalton has competed in the high jump at the Seoul, Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games. He is also a European Games and Commonwealth Games gold medallist. His personal best for the high jump is 2m37cm. |
