Visiting the school

Making a decision about a school for your daughter or son is very important and one not to be taken lightly. We encourage parents who are interested in Gospel Oak to join one of the regular guided tours of the school that are taken around by the headteacher. For details of the next tour you need to telephone the school office.

Applications to reception

Applications to Gospel Oak reception classes are governed by the criteria set down by Camden in 'Starting Schools 2009'. A copy can be obtained from either the school office or Camden education office. Parents need to read the booklet carefully and then return the application form to Camden by 3rd February 2009. Parents are notified of the outcome of applications on 8th May 2009.

There are two separate intakes in reception:

September 2009 (for children born between 1st September 2004 to 28th February 2005)

January 2010 (for children born between 1st March 2005 and 31st August 2005)

Even if your child attends our nursery she/ he does not automatically qualify for a place in reception and you must submit a separate application.

Applications to years 1 to 6

Applications for a place in years 1 to 6 are made directly to the school. Gospel Oak is a popular school so if a place is not available in your selected year group you can ask for your child to be placed on a waiting list. If you wish to transfer your child from another local primary school, out of courtesy you are asked to inform the other school of your intention. You will also be asked to meet with the headteacher at this school to discuss your reasons for seeking a transfer.
