School Development Plan 2009-10
Aims of the school - click here
How do we set our targets and priorities?
We have a comprehensive programme of monitoring and evaluation that involves analysis of data, observations, scrutiny of work and talking to children. Reports are written and presented to the Curriculum Committee in the main but occasionally to other committees or the full governing body. Each monitoring and evaluation exercise informs the relevant new action sheet that can be found in this development plan. From this exercise emerges a view on the key priorities and targets for the new development plan. The key priorities receive the most attention in terms of staff training and development time.
What are our key priorities for 2009-10?
- To raise achievement in writing significantly so that in each class the difference in children achieving expectations in reading and writing is less than 10%.
- To transform work in art so that standards exceed national expectations.
- To build on the work of 2009-10 in order to raise achievement in mathematics significantly.
- To continue the work on making improvements to the physical environment in order to demonstrate much more clearly the achievements of the school.
What are the key targets for 2009-10?
- To be placed in the top 10% percentile on the value-added snake graphs for English, mathematics and science that are to be found in RAISEonline.
- At the Foundation Stage for standards to exceed national averages.
- At Key Stage 1 for at least 90% of children to achieve level 2 or higher in English, mathematics and science, and for at least 25% to achieve level 3.
- At Key Stage 2 for at least 85% of children to achieve level 4 or higher in English and mathematics and at least 90% in science, and for at least 30% to achieve level 5 in English and mathematics, and at least 50% in science.
