SEN (Inclusion)
Please see SEN policy in policies section.
In May 2003 two Camden inspectors looked at special needs provision at Gospel Oak and here are some of the things that they said:
- Special needs provision at Gospel Oak is highly efficient, very well organised and targeted on the pupils who need support.
- Special needs provision is also very effective in terms of ensuring pupils' progress.
- The approach at Gospel Oak School can serve as a model for other schools in the borough.
- The quality of small group and on to one teaching by teaching assistants is high.
- The special needs policy is highly accessible to a lay audience through its question and answer format, its use of plain English and the absence of jargon.
- Whole class teaching is well planned and inclusive, enabling all children to participate and make progress.
