Art Enrichment Day 2009
| On Tuesday 16 th June the whole of Key Stage 2 took part in an art enrichment day. On an enrichment day children from all 8 classes mix into groups of approximately 15 children and work together for the whole day with an adult on a specific theme - in this case ‘artists’. We held a very successful exhibition at the end of the day where parents and children could come and view the art work. Here are some of the highlights. |

Jef's Group looked at the pop artist Andy Warhol. They had 10 minutes to research him on the internet and report back with some key facts. The found out some unusual information: he was originally called Andy Warhola and he was shot and almost killed by Valerie Solanas of SCUM (the society for cutting up men). They then: photographed each other, downloaded the images, adjusted the contrast to full and used the fill tool to create their own Warhols. |

The K Foundation nailed £1 million to a frame and tried to sell it as art. No gallery would touch it - so they burned it. Click on the £5 in flames on the right to watch a video to find out why (and watch Gospel Oak creating their own Anti-Art). |

They then looked at the 10 most expensive paintings and put them in order of how much they liked them - it bore no relation to how much they cost. They then tried to order them by which they thought were the most valuable - again it bore no relation the the real value. They then made a second video of their ideas. Click here for What is Art 2? video. |
